Department of Planning Encourages Customer Self-Service Online Portal Registrations

The Department of Planning advises the public that as of April 1st, 2023, to ensure applicants have access to the latest and most accurate information on the progress of their application and requests, customers are encouraged to register with the Customer Self-Service (CSS) online portal to have an application submitted on their behalf.

While previously, only agents submitting applications on behalf of an applicant needed to have a registered account, all applicants must be registered with the Department's CSS online portal to submit applications for planning approval or building permits.

Registered CSS account users benefit from accessing additional services, allowing them to submit applications, request inspections and estimate fees. Users are also assured that their contact information will never be shared or distributed to a third party but only used to contact them regarding their Planning application.

Launched in January 2020, the Department of Planning's Customer Self-Service (CSS ) portal is a modern service site for planning and permitting. All users can access the details and drawings of all publicly advertised Planning applications with or without a registered account. Simply search the CSS inputting the advertised application number or the address to find the details of any proposed development.

To register, visit https://planning.gov.bm/, and for registration assistance, an easy-to-understand guidance document is available online at How to Create a CSS Account. For further information or questions about the Customer Self-Service portal, email csshelp@gov.bm.
