LIBERTY MUTUAL TRIATHLON

PITTS BAY ROAD AND CROW LANE

THE CITY OF HAMILTON

SUNDAY, JUNE 12th, 2022

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Liberty Mutual Triathlon will take place on Sunday, June 12th, 2022 between the hours of 7:30 am and 11:00 am the following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic.

ROUTE

Commencing on Front Street, Hamilton and traveling in westerly direction along Pitts Bay Road to Woodbourne Avenue, turn right at the Woodbourne Avenue, head in northerly direction along Woodbourne Avenue to Gorham Road, turn right at Gorham Road, head in easterly direction to Bermudiana Road, then turn right on Bermudiana Road, head in southerly direction to Front Street, then turn left on Front Street, travel easterly along Crow Lane to the Crow Lane roundabout, turn right at the roundabout then head in westerly direction along Crow Lane to Front Street to the end of race route.

TRIATHLON ROUTE

TRAFFIC CONTROL:                The bicycle race will commence on Sunday, June 12th, 2022 at 7:30 am and is expected to be concluded by 11:00 am. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collusion with race participants.  The race route will be under the direction of the Bermuda Police service and Race Officials. Motorists are asked to follow directions and instructions to assist with traffic control for this event.

ROAD CLOSURES

Crow Lane                              Inbound lanes from Crow Lane roundabout to Front Street

Crow Lane                               Outbound lanes from Front Street to Crow Lane roundabout

Spurling Hill                            Both inbound and outbound lanes will be closed

Pitts Bay Road                        From Woodbourne Avenue to Bermudiana Road

Gorham Road                         From Woodbourne Avenue to Bermudiana Road

Woodbourne Avenue             From Pitt’s Bay Road to Gorham Road

PARKING:                                There will be no parking restriction for this bicycle race, but motorists are permitted to park in designated parking bays along any part of the race route. Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants in the bicycle race

Flora Duffy Hill:                      The Bermuda Police Service and Race Marshals shall direct traffic through this roadway

In addition, the Bermuda Police Service are hereby authorized to “Close-Off” streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.
