Opening of Public Schools in January 2022 – Additional Testing Days for School Staff

Public school teachers and staff will have two additional days for pre-return testing. The initial date of Saturday, January 1s thas been expanded to include Sunday, January 2nd and Monday, January 3rd 2022. 

The Department of Education initially announced that all teachers and staff will test only on Saturday, January 1st 2022. However, the testing schedule for teachers and staff has now been expanded to include Sunday, January 2nd and Monday, January 3rd. The full testing schedule for teachers and staff is as follows:

School teachers and staff should note that the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory (MDL) has provided two links to book a pre-return to school testing appointment – one for use by Teachers/Staff https://schoolstaff.resqwest.com/; and, another for use by students https://schools.resqwest.com/.

School teachers and staff are encouraged to book their testing appointment as soon as possible, and prior to the day on which they choose to be tested. School teachers and staff should also note that the testing window on Monday January 3rd is at the Bermuda College Cafeteria only, with a cut-off time at 12:30pm.

The booking form for testing will be active effective today, December 20, 2021.

The Department of Education is emphasizing the importance of having schools open for in-person learning on Wednesday, January 5th 2022. Therefore, all school staff are urged to follow the schedule provided by the MDL and test on the allocated days using the separate link for teachers and staff.
