Minister Encourages Participation in Free Lunch & Learn Seminar

Today the Minister of Social Development and Seniors, the Hon. Tinee Furbert, JP, MP added her support to the upcoming Institute of Bermuda Architects virtual Lunch & Learn.

Minister Furbert stated, “This year’s theme for International Day of People with Disabilities, is ‘Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World’. On Wednesday 2 December, from 1pm – 2pm, the Institute of Bermuda Architects has designed a Zoom Lunch & Learn seminar. The topic is Access for All – Universal Design and Toilet Room Accessibility.

“I encourage architects, plumbers, designers, facilities managers and anyone considering building or renovating homes and buildings to attend this free, hour-long learning opportunity.”

The Minister concluded, “We must continue to look for ways to make our structures more accessible. This is a perfect opportunity to understand the advances being made in universal restroom design.”
