The Department of E-Commerce supports Bermuda as it continues to be recognised as a prime jurisdiction that leverages and advances the digital economy. The E-Commerce Department develops a progressive regulatory framework and facilitates the advancement of technology skills and innovation island-wide.
What do they do?
The Department of E-Commerce focuses on technology-related policies and legislation, but it also teaches the community about technology through:
- Encouraging the use of technology at home and at work through programmes like BizCamps for Bermuda’s youth, Inspire eBusiness seminars and Global Entrepreneurship Week for Bermuda’s entrepreneurs, and the TechAwards and TechTalks for Bermuda’s users and makers of technology.
- Encouraging the adoption of safe Internet practices for residents and businesses through the Cybertips initiative.
- Continuously measuring and reporting on Bermuda’s e-readiness through the State of ICT Benchmark Statistics report.
