Letter Services Airmail
All mail sent by airmail should bear the words "By Airmail" in the upper left hand corner. This is the simplest way to send your letters around the world. It's still one of the most economical ways as well.

You can, if you wish, use this service for taped messages, personalized direct mail shots, and for packets up to 2 kg in weight. All you have to do is write "letter" clearly on the outside of these packets.

Small Packets - Unsealed
For packets containing goods under 1 kg you can save money by sending them via surface mail at reduced rates. We suggest you use string or plastic tags. Please mark all items "Small Packets". Airmail rates apply to small packets sent by air.

Small Packets - Sealed
If you wish to send sealed packets or packets weighing between 1 and 2 kg, please use the letter service described above.

Printed Papers
For unsealed advertising material, books, newspapers and periodicals. Please mark all items "Printed Papers" and send by Airmail.

 

This service of the Post Office is designed to give the customer a fast, efficient, safe and reliable fully documented all the way delivery. Our aim is to deliver within 48 hours. International Data Express Mail must be posted at the G.P.O. by 10:30 am for same day dispatch.

Easy to use
Simple no-fuss documentation. The orange and blue striped marking is an international recognised standard and as such is given preference by airlines and postal administrations alike. The closing times for International Data Express to connect with same day airline outlets, are available on request and is usually before 10:30 a.m. Monday-Saturday in Hamilton. Please enquire at other post offices for collection times at that office.

Reliable time tabled delivery
The principal demand for this service is for the U.S.A. , Canada and the U.K. , however, we do have links to Australia , New Zealand , Hong Kong and most of Europe . For details of these services and rates of services see below.
