Airport Re-named to Honour A Leader
Bermuda International Airport has been re-named to the L.F. Wade International Airport. The ceremony took place on April 16th 2007 to honour the late L. Frederick Wade, the former leader of the Progressive Labour Party. At the ceremony, Bermuda's Premier, Dr Ewart Brown, commented: "Today we usher Bermuda into a new era where it is permissible to salute a common man with more than fading memories. Generations to come will praise our foresight and determination to preserve the legacy of a man who was much more than a politician."
