Role
The role of this section is to handle the majority of Bermuda’s waste disposal requirements. Its primary function is to operate and maintain the incinerator in a safe and efficient manner. Each year, the facility burns over 65,000 metric tons of trash and from the ash produces over 5,000 ash concrete blocks that are used for land reclamation at the airport dump.
