Earlier today (May 8), during the 2025 Bermuda Digital Finance Forum, the Premier, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP, participated in discussions with leaders in digital finance who were visiting Bermuda.
The second day of the event began with a fireside chat between Premier Burt and Anthony Scaramucci of SkyBridge Capital, moderated by Michael Casey of the Decentralised AI Society.
The conversation focused on how Bermuda’s digital asset strategy has evolved since 2018, the island’s role as a bridge between the US and Europe, and how stablecoin adoption can support economic growth in Bermuda.
As part of the day’s meetings, the Premier met with leaders from Moody’s, Circle, and Near AI.
During the meeting with Near AI, the Premier explored potential collaboration in areas related to artificial intelligence and digital identity. The conversation focused on how Bermuda can develop local tools powered by AI to support government operations and tourism development.
Premier Burt said, “Bermuda’s reputation as a serious jurisdiction continues to attract some of the world’s most forward-thinking organisations. These conversations are not just about innovation for its own sake. They are about creating a future where our laws give us a competitive edge in attracting global companies. Since 2018, we have attracted companies that have created job opportunities for Bermudians, and this week's event will build on this progress.”
These engagements reflect the level of international interest in Bermuda’s approach to regulation and innovation in digital finance.
